Why this work matters to me
Careful preparation can materially change someone's position.
Supporting urgent detention and removal matters taught me to ask the right questions, identify missing evidence, organise complex information and act before a deadline closes.
It also taught me the importance of communicating clearly with clients, Counsel, public bodies and the Tribunal. I learned to explore alternatives when the first route is unavailable and to respect the responsibility a client places in the legal team.
That is what draws me to legal work more broadly. Careful preparation, sound judgment and teamwork can turn uncertainty into a constructive next step.

Judicial review & interim relief
Context
A detained client faced imminent removal while recent submissions, medical evidence and the procedural history required urgent review.
My contribution
Under supervision, reviewed the chronology, Home Office documents, medical evidence and witness statements. Prepared Tribunal forms, a draft order and an indexed bundle, and supported communication with Counsel, the Home Office and the Tribunal against a strict deadline.

Case management
Moving from traditional records to a case-management system
Context
Traditional and fragmented records contributed to approximately 30 repeat client enquiries each day and made follow-up information harder for the team to retrieve.
My contribution
Identified the pattern, raised it in a team meeting and supported the transition to a central case-management system by organising records, improving attendance-note structure and adapting the process through colleague feedback.

Community project
As public coordinator for a student Paw Rescue project, I worked with the SPCA, managed promotion and helped our team secure public donations.
Camino de Santiago
Walked around 150 kilometres, covering 25 to 31 kilometres on walking days, and continued from Santiago to Fisterra and Muxía.
Cooking and creativity
Placed second runner-up in a cooking competition. I enjoy testing new recipes and creating cooking videos that make the process easy to follow.
Taekwondo
I started learning taekwondo after being bullied as a child. Instead of blaming the situation, I wanted to build the skills and confidence to protect myself. I continued training and later won a gold medal. It taught me to respond to challenges by learning, adapting and taking action.
